View Larger MapWe got up, gassed up at the offramp fuel station right near our Salem OR hotel and rode South on I-5 through Oregon. We stopped for lunch at a Subway in Sutherlin OR at about 13:15. We gassed up again at Wolf Creek OR and continued South.
Just after the Oregon California border it got incredibly smoky.
We took a video and pictures. We got to clear air again after about 100 miles, (just South of what we think was Mt. Shasta). We could have smoked meat if we had it attached to our bikes. The only benefit was that there were NO bugs on our face shields. We rode to Redding CA where we gassed up and then checked into a Rodeway Inn (on points again) at about 19:30. We ate Mexican food for dinner at “Su Casa” restaurant attached to the hotel. We also did a load of laundry before getting to bed.
