Our goal was to ride to Centralia, Washington from Medford, Oregon. We got up late at 9:00 and started at 11:00. Not quite as hot as the previous day, but still warm. It was smooth riding with only a little smoke from the wildfires. We stopped for a break at a rest stop 10 miles south of Salem, OR. After the break, Eric's 2007 BMW GSA (R1200GS Adventure) wouldn't start.
A State trooper tried to help with a jump, but no dice. An Oregon BMW rider in his car told us the Salem BMW guys were close and good. Multiple riders stopped to chat and wanted to help. We called BMW and they had the bike towed on a tilt-up bed to Salem Honda-BMW-Ducati. They tried a new battery and a new Starter = NG. They stayed late to try, but ran out of time and ideas on July 2nd Wednesday night. They said that they would call BMW in the morning and call Eric when they knew more.
We stayed at the Rodeway Inn on the northside of Salem on 8000 points.
