Canada Alaska 2008 Motorcycle Trip Day 8

Day 8 - Tuesday -
View Larger MapEric started calling the BMW Shop first thing in the morning, but they still had no answers. Based on input from several members of ADVRIDER.com, Eric asked them to re-check the battery and starter relay. They courteously said they would take it under advisement. Two hours later they called Eric and said that the bike was ready and they replaced the battery and the starter relay. We packed-up Jennifer’s Versys at the hotel (Eric took a Taxi) and headed down to the dealer to load some of his load on the GSA and in the late afternoon we left Salem riding the repaired bike and Jennifer's Versys and headed to Mike's to get the rest of our gear. Portland has some routes that are difficult for motorcycles. There was bad traffic and a route up a very steep neighborhood hill to eventually get to Mike's. We arrived and loaded bikes and waited 1.5 hours to leave Mike's to avoid traffic through town to get to I-5 north. We rode to Centralia, WA and stayed in the Econolodge @ 8000 points.
